There are many firsts in life.

Like a whole lot of firsts. There is your first breath. The first time your eyes opened. Your first taste of Gerber baby food. The first time you fell and hit your head. The first time you played baseball. First bowl of ice cream. How about the first time you watched Star Wars? That is one of my favorite firsts. Or the first date with the person who gets the honor of being your wife/husband. Yeah, there are a lot of firsts.

Well this here is my first ever blog post!

I actually remember an assignment I had in college for which we were meant to go online, create a free account on a blog website and make a blog post. I never actually did that assignment… Maybe I can send this to the ol’ professor and get that grade changed?

Anyway, I am writing a blog post now. The blog post officially known as “The First Blog Post of Ian R. Neale”. With any luck I will be more consistent in writing these blogs then I was at completing assignments in college, or this will be a rather short foray into the internet blogosphere!

Let me welcome you to Real Roots. It is, as we have already established at far too lengthy a length, a blog. My hope here is to give readers enjoyment and laughter as I tell stories of the on goings in the life of the Neale’s. That being my wife and me. But also tell you guys about some real life lessons that we learn as we try to go back to living life with basic ‘real roots’ Christianity. Roots that we both at times feel get lost in this modern life.

We are not perfect, and oh dear do we make mistakes… daily. Pretty much all the time. But hopefully as we mess up, fail, and sometimes, (but not usually) succeed we can glean some ideas as to living life for Christ and for His Glory.
